I have a problem using the "f protocol" on an uucp 4800 baud link via satellite from Germany to Singapore. All big files (say: > 50k bytes) will be truncated by the receiver. The reason for this problem should be the propagation delay about approximately 0.5 seconds in the satellite link. Each time, when the receiver sends a XOFF, the transmitter sends more than 240 bytes, before he received the XOFF. I think the buffers in the tty driver or in the uucico are not big enough(?) The uucp transfer works in "g protocol"; but with an effective transfere rate about 200 bytes/sec. With the "f protocol" the rate is about 400-470 bytes/sec. This difference is big enough to get the "f protocol" running! So, what should I do?? Any idea??
