Posting for a friend -- He's looking for source for a uucp clone for his IBM-PC clone that's intended to compile with Turbo C. He looked at uupc some time back and sez it was very MicroSoft C dependant. If anybody has any pointers, general info on shareware uucps for clones, etc, please send your info to Bill McUmber (wem@itivax.iti.org, or ...sharkey!itivax!wem). -- Steve Simmons scs@vax3.iti.org Industrial Technology Institute Ann Arbor, MI. The current version of UUPC compiles just fine with Turbo C, and is a big improvement over the original (it has a much better mailer interface, it talks correctly to HDB UUCP's, etc). It's the so-called "interim" version, but it's been the interim version for a long time. Its performance is far better than the UUCP that comes with UFGATE, mainly because UFGATE's UUCP only supports a value of 1 for the windows parameter. -- -- Joe Buck jbuck@epimass.epi.com, uunet!epimass.epi.com!jbuck

I added a password file to the current version of UUPC (post-1.0-interim) and recompiled with Turbo C, no problem. The current version is available from many places, not the least of which is uunet. ++Brandon -- Brandon S.
