[comp.mail.uucp] Latest version of smail

What is the latest version of Smail mailer that has been released?  I have
version 2.5 but also have noticed that some sites are running version 3.1.  If
this version is available, I would appreciate if someone could point me to where
I can find it on the Internet.

The latest "released" smail is smail version 2.5.

Smail 3.1 is a completely different beast altogether. It's currently
in alpha test, and won't be release for a while yet.
