It appears there's some conflict with our sites name somewhere in domanin (oops, domain) ssc.gov. Course, I'm not sure, reading these things still makes my head feel funny after a while. I haven't been able, for some reason, to get mail to where I thought this came from though. I do know that all the %'s look a bit funky. ------ begin included files ----- From uunet!uiucuxc!SSCVX1.SSC.GOV!Postmaster Mon Sep 25 21:06:50 1989 Received: from execu.execu.com by cedar.execu.uucp (4.0/ESC-Ease) id AA01265; Mon, 25 Sep 89 21:06:47 CDT Return-Path: <uunet!uiucuxc!SSCVX1.SSC.GOV!Postmaster> Received: from sequoia.execu.uucp by execu.execu.com (4.0/SMI-4.0.ESC) id AA17813; Mon, 25 Sep 89 21:06:42 CDT Received: from execu.execu.com (execu) by sequoia.execu.uucp (4.12/Execucom.hack) id AA05402; Mon, 25 Sep 89 21:06:39 cdt Received: from uunet.UUCP by execu.execu.com (4.0/SMI-4.0.ESC) id AA17810; Mon, 25 Sep 89 21:06:38 CDT From: uunet!uiucuxc!SSCVX1.SSC.GOV!Postmaster Received: from uiucuxc.UUCP by uunet.uu.net (5.61/1.14) with UUCP id AA08482; Mon, 25 Sep 89 20:10:09 -0400 Received: from [134.3.1.101] by uxc.cso.uiuc.edu with SMTP (5.61+/IDA-1.2.8) id AA24735; Mon, 25 Sep 89 19:03:08 -0500 Message-Id: <8909260003.AA24735@uxc.cso.uiuc.edu> Date: Mon, 25 Sep 1989 18:58:00 CDT Subject: Undeliverable Mail To: <uiucuxc!sequoia!Mailer-Daemon> Comment: Bad address -- <DMR%Jnet%SLACVM.dnet> Comment: %MAIL-E-USERSPEC, invalid user specification '%SLACVM.DNET' Status: OR Start of returned message Received: from uxc.cso.uiuc.edu by sscvx1.ssc.gov with SMTP; Mon, 25 Sep 1989 18:57:46 CDT Received: from [134.3.2.4] by uxc.cso.uiuc.edu with SMTP (5.61+/IDA-1.2.8) id AA24682; Mon, 25 Sep 89 19:02:33 -0500 Received: by sequoia.gov (4.0/SMI-4.0) id AB00686; Mon, 25 Sep 89 20:26:42 CDT Date: Mon, 25 Sep 89 20:26:42 CDT From: sequoia!Mailer-Daemon@uxc.cso.uiuc.edu (Mail Delivery Subsystem) Subject: Returned mail: Service unavailable Message-Id: <8909260126.AB00686@sequoia.gov> To: <"Jnet%SLACVM::DMR"@SSCVX1.SSC.gov> ----- Transcript of session follows ----- Connected to mailhost: >>> DATA <<< 554 sendall: too many hops (17 max) 554 <GARAVAG@SEQUOIA.SSC.gov>... Now that Keith has the SUN running he expects to get things pretty much tidied up this week. Please confirm what you want of me (particularly Ray). I reran on b4 systematic sensitivities at .265,.285 90 deg phase advance. (Ray). 2 seeds out of 6 have substantial cross coupling. I am faxing results for one seed (seed 1) with heavy crosscoupling. It is b4 momentum correlated, (a3 is marginal). It is not a coding problem (or if it is it is very subtle.) b4 is reduced in run #9 by changing the systematic value of b4 (not using the routine to average b4 to zero). Neither is the crosscoupling caused by feeddown coding as setting the orbit displacement to zero does not eliminate it. It is momentum dependent. It looks like a "cocktail mix" of effects where crosscoupling leads to momentum dispersion in the vertical causing b4 systematic to induce further momentum dispersion and so on and so on. I look forward to your reaction to the above? With .160 ,.220 and 95 deg phase advance the crosscoupling is small. I probably should have emphasized more strongly that concatenating multipole errors to 160 elements gives very closely the same results as concatenating to 800 elements. I looked up Ytons early run and it used avdec=.true. I have never had two different results from the same input and this is not, emphasize not, an example of such a contradiction.(The code was checked with IBM memory load options to ensure there were no initialization problems.)
