Is there any way to make an exiting uucico (HDB) look for more work that can be done with the device just released? I have a transmissions that are equivalent to mailing lists in that they generate uux jobs to many sites at the same time. Once the modems are all busy, the rest get DEVICE LOCKED errors and are not re-tried until cron kicks off a uusched process. It isn't possible to tie the number to uuscheds to the number of modems since I have several incompatible classes of modems (one type is actually a satellite link), so the retries may also generate more DEVICE LOCKED errors and back off the retry time to a point where the transmission is seriously delayed even though the lines are idle at various times. I'd prefer to keep the lines busy until all the jobs are completed. Les Mikesell les@chinet.chi.il.us
