[comp.mail.uucp] Use of pathalias

jbev@iscden.UUCP (J.Bevier @ Home on Hipeak) (07/06/90)

Has anyone installed pathalias on SCO UNIX r3.2? I can get pathalias
to run, but not arpatxt. Any hints how how to use it. I am using
ELM and MMDF.

Thanks,

Jim Bevier

I strongly suggest that you read the section on setting up a mail network
in the SCO documentation. It describes how to set up the MMDF routing
(channel) tables, domain tables, etc. With MMDF you do not need pathalias.

Of course, if you decide that SCO's MMDF really sucks, well remove it and
run smail or something. ;-)

IMHO, though, MMDF works just fine with one exception and that is that
occasionally mail will arrive with a reply address of site_a!user@site_b
This is documented as a bug with SCO, so maybe it will be resolved?
