Don Lewis' discussion about good and bad From, From_ and From: lines prompted me to post this problem. I am having a very hard time receiving mail from bitnet sites. By this, I mean that such mail gets to me alright, but invariably, the From: line is munged to hell. Even the From line is incorrect more often than not. Here is an example: From iex!uunet!ALASKA.BITNET!JSBFG Fri Aug 17 15:11:14 1990 Return-Path: <iex!uunet!ALASKA.BITNET!JSBFG> To: supernet.haus.com!cluther Sender: "ACAD1A::JSBFG" <iex!ALASKA.BITNET!uunet!CORNELLC.cit.cornell.edu!JSBFG> Reply-To: "Bill The Cat" <iex!ALASKA.BITNET!uunet!CORNELLC.cit.cornell.edu!JSBFG> From: "Bill The Cat" <iex!ALASKA.BITNET!uunet!CORNELLC.cit.cornell.edu!JSBFG> The user in question is jsbfg@alaska.bitnet. However, notice that the Sender:, Reply-To:, and From: lines all have been mangled beyond use. Anybody got any ideas why this is occuring. Serious answers, please. ;) -- Clay Luther cluther@supernet.haus.com Postmeister cluther@supernet.lonestar.org Harris Adacom Corp, Dallas, Tx uunet!iex!supernet!cluther 214/386-2356 Your mileage may vary.
