[I apologize if this has been posted before... I had little tiff with the news reader which may have sent out another copy, which I've dutifully tried to cancel] I am trying to get UUCP/mail/news working on a '386 machine running Intel Unix System V. I have two hosts I try to connect to, and though the login succeeds, the protocol fails after a few packets are exchanged, then there follows several (30?) "alarms" (what do they mean?) after which to connection is closed due to failure. The uucico debug output follows (though is neccesarily truncated since it goes on forever, basically repeating itself). Any and all help would be apreciated.
