I apologize if this is the incorrect group for my question, but here goes. I am the administrator (loosely speaking) of a new site at a startup company. I am wondering where I can get information about the various mailers available to us. Currently My server is a sun3/160 running sendmail.cf (I don't know the version). We are going to connect to UUNET for mail service and I'm wondering if I need to have a mailer which can handle "domain style" addresses. And if so, what options are available. I have been trying to locate a good book on the subject (ala Managing/Using UUCP and USENET) but have been unable to locate one which talks bluntly about mailers in the UUCP AND Internet world. The sysop who is going to provide us with our news feed said this info is generaaly word of mouth or on the USENET itself, and thus this posting. Please mail repliesto this account (prism@chinet.il.usa) or to : u48676@uicvm.cc.uic.edu If response warrants I will post a summary to the net.
