wadswort@babss.UUCP (John H. Wadsworth) (12/07/90)
I get mailed bounced with the message below :
(I changed the name to someone@some.where )
----- Transcript of session follows -----
554 someone@some.where... Cannot deliver: ARPA access denied to user "babss
!uucp"
554 someone@some.where ... Explanation: user "uucp@babss.UUCP" does not have
a UDB entry
554 someone@some.wherenet ... Service unavailable
I've been unable to find out what causes an error 554 (bounced mail?).
Also what is a UDB entry and how do I get one? The site is listed in
comp.mail.maps. Did I miss something?
If it's any help, this error was caused by a `sendsys` control message.
They seem to be most common in mail that was sent with @ addresses.
I'd appreciate any information you can give me on this and especially
any information on where I can RTFM!.
Thanks!
