[comp.mail.uucp] Buddy, can you help a begineer

brown@Cheetahllnl.gov (Dave Brown) (04/16/91)

The background:
I just got my Sun 4/SunOS 4.1 machine running uucp - sort of. It does call and log in O.K. and it exchanges uucp files fine (in /tmp or /uucppublic). It currently connects to my machine at work, and that one seems to be able to send it mail, depending on the sendmail.cf I am using on my machine at home. But I can't seem to get sendmail.cf configured for my machine at home.

The question:
1. It seems to me that someone must have a sendmail.cf out there they could send me and save me weeks of hassel. My situation is preety vanilla, I have a standalone Sun at home, with uucp, wanting to send mail. I ask you is that too much to ask?

2. As soon as I get all this uucp stuff working O.K., how do I get registered, with one of thoes great .us domain names. Any other beginner stuff would probably be appreciated as well.

Even if you post your answers, could you cc me by e-mail, mucho gracias mas heffe UUCP mano, (no flames about my TexMex Spanish, O.K.)
