[comp.mail.uucp] uucp on sun with 38400 baud?

service@infohh.rmi.de (INFO.box-Zentrale HH) (04/25/91)

Hi there, we have a problem with uucp. We have a sun 3/140
with sunOS3.5 EXPORT. We have installed an ISDN-Modem and
established a uucp-connection to another site. Everything
works great, except that we get an

>ASSERT ERROR (uucico) pid: 22238 (4/25-14:01) BAD SPEED (-1)

at 38400 baud (other connections are ok with 38400 baud).
There are no problems when we switch to 9600 baud. How is
it possible to use the uucp from sun with 38400 baud?
Thanx for your help.

Thanx to all, who replied to my query. The simple (but not
easy) solution is to upgrade to sunOS 4.x (with HDB uucp).
So I switched to HDB and everything is working now. I didn't
try the patch originating from Telebit, so I can't tell, if
it's working (it could have saved me a lot of time).

x >= 1 in that statement; SunOS 4.0[.x] didn't have HDB, although its
UUCP does, at least, support 19200 BPS (I forget whether it supports
38400 or not).
