I have a problem. I'd love some help. Please. I have a Novell network - SFT 2.15 and 386 3.10 - running cc:Mail (NOT MY FAULT) as our mail system, and running cc:Mail's uucp gateway product (now discontinued as a poorly conceived piece of work) as our outside mail link. We've been using UUNET as our mail service and now we are switching to UUPSI. Now. The version of uucico/uucp/uupc that comes with the cc:Mail gateway has a limitation. It can only process a one line systems file - which contains the phone number, the chat script and all other pertinant data for the call. For UUNET this hasn't been a problem. Their chat script is about 170 characters total. BUT. With UUPSI, I'm stuck with about a 400 character script - including the character pair *P - which is supposed to introduce a one second pause. The problem is that the the version of uucp that comes with the gateway software only accepts a one line (256 character) chat script. I have not been able to discover a way to get line continuations - normally a backslash on one line and white space at the start of the next - to work. Nor do I know if this implementation even knows what a *P is... So. I have a problem. I need to get a conversion to UUPSI in place SOON. I have cc:Mail and I can't dump it. cc:Mail (A division of Lotus) has tech support people who seem completely unwilling to return my calls. I need details on what other UUCICO/UUPC equivalents are out there that accept systems file entries greater than one line. Or I need to know just HOW to get the UUPC I have to work - information about who wrote it, and where I can get documentation for it - ASAP - would be MOST appreciated. Or something. Help? Please?
