Following are headers from two recently-received mail messages. Why are those "From" lines coming out like that? Based on the other headers and the contents of the message, I gather the second one should be something like From crash!nosc!NIELAND%FALCON@WPAFB-AAMRL.ARPA instead of From crash!FALCON!nosc!!WPAFB-AAMRL.ARPA:NIELAND A similar, but not identical (or maybe it is; I'm getting confused) transformation seems to have occurred on the first message. My local sysadmin says his mailer isn't doing it... ---- Inclusion #1 follows -------------------------------------------------- From crash!WISCPSL.BITNET!ncr-sd!ncrcae!ece-csc!!cunyvm.cuny.edu:POSTMASTER Sat Dec 26 10:16:10 1987 Received: by crash.cts.com (5.54/UUCP-Project/rel-1.0/09-14-86) id AA17090; Sat, 26 Dec 87 10:10:57 PST Reply-To: crash!WISCPSL.BITNET!ncr-sd!ncrcae!ece-csc!!cunyvm.cuny.edu:POSTMASTER Received: by ece-csc.ncsu.edu (5.51/Wolfpack NCSU/10-7-87) id AA24374; Sat, 26 Dec 87 12:39:43 EST Posted-Date: Sat, 26 Dec 87 11:36 CST Received: from CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU by mcnc.mcnc.org (5.54/MCNC/10-20-87) id AA12739; Sat, 26 Dec 87 12:38:15 EST Message-Id: <8712261738.AA12739@mcnc.mcnc.org> Received: from WISCPSL.BITNET by CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU ; Sat, 26 Dec 87 12:38:16 EST Received: by WISCPSL (Jnet BSMTP V0.07) id 1272; Sat, 26 Dec 87 11:36 CST Date: Sat, 26 Dec 87 11:36 CST From: <crash!cunyvm.cuny.edu!POSTMASTER%WISCPSL.BITNET> Subject: Returned Network Mail Ppath: pnet01!jeh To: ece-csc!ncrcae!ncr-sd!crash!jeh@mcnc.org Original_To: org%"ece-csc!ncrcae!ncr-sd!crash!jeh@mcnc.org" Your mail is being returned to you.
