I noticed a posting today that mentioned invoking 'su' from an Emacs shell window; however, it was for Gnu Emacs and I run Unipress Emacs v2.10. Has anyone figured out how to do this from a Unipress Emacs shell window without echoing the password? Also, at other times in the past, when I've tried to invoke 'su' inside a shell window, the 'su' process would be immediately suspended. Then when I tried to kill the job, I was informed that I didn't own it, so I couldn't kill it. Sound familiar to anyone? Please mail me your responses, and I'll summarize, at a later date, what I receive. Thanks.

Sorry about the lack of signature on my request about invoking 'su' in Emacs shell windows. I was informed by inews that my .signature was more than 4 lines, so it wasn't included. It's now two lines. My signature: Mitchell McLain ...!tektronix!sequent!gssc!mmm (Now my foreshortened .signature will probably be added... I have a little to learn about how inews works.) -- Mitchell McLain ...!tektronix!sequent!gssc!mmm
