A couple of questions. First is the GNU stuff tested and available for VMS 4.[45]? Next does the distribution support the unix versions too, what I really mean is it the same distribution with clever defines or makefiles. Thanx in advance for info (I presume that if it is available I can get the tape from FSF in boston after paying something for it). Robin P Alston MSc. aka The REAL Atilla. GNU Emacs version 18.35 runs on VMS v4.5 (and probably others as well) almost without a hitch. Unless you want to do a bit of digging, I would wait a short while (maybe 18.36 or 18.37) before getting the software. You can get the software from the Free Software Foundation, or via anonymous FTP from MIT-PREP. Once things settle down, I will distribute it. The only difference between what I will distribute and what is available from MIT is that I will distribute object files and executables. There is a mailing list for VMS GNU Emacs. To get on it, send requests to vms-gnu-emacs-request@harvard. ---------------- Marty Sasaki uucp: harvard!sasaki Strategic Information arpa: sasaki@harvard.harvard.edu 80 Blanchard Road bitnet: sasaki@harvunxh Burlington, MA 01803 phone: 617-273-5500
