I have a problem with gnu emacs and the mh-e package on a microvax II running Ultrix 1.2. When moving from one mail message to another (via the 'n' and 'p' commands, for instance), the mail message buffer is messed up - lines are missing, characters are missing, sometimes part of the first line ends up in the border between the scan listing at the top of the screen and the mail message. This happens whether one is coming into the uvax on a terminal line or via rlogin from another system. Also, when using the 'g' (goto message) command, the cursor is placed at the end of the border above the minibuffer. This problem showed up in v17.61 and 18.35. I've tried rebuilding emacs completely, except for the *.elc files, which are from the 18.33 distribution (I did recompile the fixed .el files from 18.35). Also, byte-recompile-directory refuses to recompile anything in the /lisp directory, even when I moved all the .elc files elsewhere. Anybody got any ideas? I'm no unix wizard, c wizard, I don't know LISP, so I'm kinda stuck for ideas. Any help would be appreciated. I moved from v18.35 to v18.37 of gnu emacs and the problems with mh-e went away. I don't know what change fixed the problem. Thanks to all who responded to my original message. Mike Iglesias University of California, Irvine
