Unipress emacs has a feature called 'typeout windows' which provides a vehicle for transient text to be displayed on the screen similarly to the way text is displayed using more(1). The text appears over part of the top window, then when it is no longer needed, disappears and restores the screen back to the way it was. My question is has anyone implemented this under GNU Emacs? And if so I would like to get a copy of the lisp code for it. I remember some discussion on the net several months back about how this "feature" was not a part of real Emacs.. and several readers wanted to know how to disable it under Gosling Emacs from Unipress. But I think it is a nice thing to have for certain types of information that needs to be displayed to the user, I beleive it really has it's place (this is only my opinion, please no flames...). -- ron@vsedev.VSE.COM (Ron Flax) UUCP: ..!seismo!vsedev!ron INET: vsedev.VSE.COM!ron@seismo.CSS.GOV
