GNU Emacs 18.38 is now available in the standard places on prep. Differences from 18.37 are 240k. Compressed and split distributions are made by users; they will probably appear soon. In this version I reverted cpp to what was distributed in 18.36. The new ANSI standard cpp fails on system V.0 in a way that I cannot reproduce on 4.2. Since cpp is included in the Emacs distribution for building Emacs on such systems, using the old one is the easiest way to fix it. The new cpp will be distributed with the C compiler. The most noteworthy change is a feature to open tcp connections to specified services and hosts, for BSD only, from Mark Lambert of MIT.
