[comp.emacs] Why is PATH_{LOADSEARCH,EXEC} in src/paths.h ?

escott%deis.uci.edu@ROME.UCI.EDU.UUCP (03/11/87)

I suppose I'm missing something, but: a very quick glance through the
sources seems to indicate that all that the macros PATH_EXEC and
PATH_LOADSEARCH are used for is to set some corresponding LISP
variables. If that's really the case, why put them in src/paths.h?
Why not just setq load-path, exec-path, and exec-directory in
lisp/paths.el?

Thanks.

By the way...
