[comp.emacs] Is sex out of favor these days?

rms@PREP.AI.MIT.EDU.UUCP (03/12/87)

The objections that have been stated to the file `sex.1' make no sense
to me, and therefore *as reasons* they carry no weight.

However, the file is not world-class humor, so I'd rather remove it if
most of the community dislikes it.

So I am conducting a poll. Please reply to sex-poll, not to rms and
CERTAINLY NOT TO INFO-GNU-EMACS OR COMP.EMACS, saying whether you
think that the file `etc/sex.1' is offensive and ought for that reason
to be removed from the GNU Emacs distribution.

If you think the issue is not important enough to be worth thinking
about, please bear with me and send a reply saying so. It is important
to know how many people think the question matters.

Note that I am not asking whether you think that it would be advisable
to remove the file because of objections from people other than you.
I want to find out what the users think, not what they think other
users think.

I'm also not concerned about whether people might get the impression
that I'm not serious. What gave you the idea I was serious?
