As far as an EMACS for CPM/80 goes, although Mince was mentiond which does support emacs at a "source" code level, a better choice would probably be Final Word, version 1.xx. I had used FW for a long time and was able to get much of teh emacs functionality in keystrokes, although it does support the extensibility. Additionally, FW supports paging so you can edit files larger than 30K. Presently I use Final Word II on my PCs for most of my integrated word processing and editing needs (half of FW is the editor while the other is a mostly Scribe compatible formatter.) By the way, FW is available from Mark of the Unicorn, although finding a version 1.xx copy may be difficult.
