Emacs 18.40 is now available in the usual places.
The final (non-beta-test) version 18 release will happen Saturday.
I have made this penultimate version to give you a chance to install
it now and catch any last minute errors.  I hope that many of you
will do so.

Differences from 18.39 are a 100k, mostly VMS-only and Sun Windows bug
fixes.  In addition, it should now work properly on Encore computers
once again.

Could someone compress this?  Or move it to udel-louie and
compress it there?  I'd like to get it and try it out before
Saturday, but don't want to send the extra MB through the
Arpanet.

rms compressed version 18.40 last night.  It is also available on
louie.udel.edu in ~ftp/gnu.  A split directory is there to.Uer ther
