I have received a port of emacs 3.8b to the Atari ST from a friend,
David Dermott at the Defense Research Establishment Atlantic. He tells
me that he found a number of bugs in the code while doing the port, and
that he will be posting the bugs and fixes to ArpaNet. Since it may
take a while for this to trickle trough to UseNet, I am posting this
advice.
If no other ports materialize, I can send the binary to J. Turner for
him if that is the most conveneient way of publishing an ST port.
However, since the group has yet to appear here, and since imagen
appears to be down for several days, I'll wait.

Yes, I downloaded Emacs 3.8f from GEnie. It seems to run okay. I
have seen the lists of bugs from comp.emacs for 3.8b, and am
wondering if these were fixed in 3.8f (I have the version with the
fixed spawn at least).

thanks for the kind offer, the latest version (that i have) of
uEmacs is 3.8j, it may not be the latest but it does have bug fixes
over 3.8b. i fear that trying to get comp.*.atari.st going (and do
my job) has eaten more of my time than i expected. i will try to get
the st version out as soon as i can.
