I'm seeking information about how to get a working version of gnu-emacs v18 for VMS. Our situation is as follows: We have the 18.38 sources and are running that version on our Ultrix system. We have version 17 running on our VMS system (this was here when I started working here; apparently it is something that somebody modified; we didn't get it from the FSF). We only (at the moment) have CSNET access to the network. Are the diffs from 18.38 to a version that supports VMS correctly small enough for someone to send them to me over CSNET? If not would someone at MIT be willing to put them on a TK50 tape for me if I mailed or brought the tape over there (I work at Wellesley College)? Finally is there any documentation about the differences between using gnu-emacs on UNIX and VMS? I'm looking for a guide that we can give users in addition to the gnu-emacs reference card. If there isn't such a thing, and I have to write one, would there be any interest in including it in the GNU Emacs manual, or at least making it available? Please respond to the address below. Thanks. Scott Shurr <sshurr@wellesley.edu>
