We are running Gnu Emacs 18.41 under VMS 4.5 and experience frequent access violation crashes in the routine compact_strings. Does other sites experience this as well, or are we unique? If anybody has a fix for this, please step forward! If anybody runs Gnu Emacs 18.41 under VMS and does NOT get such crashes, please let me know as well..
