So I managed to get 18.41 working fairly well on the SGI 3.5 Iris the first time through (modulo subprocesses) by make'ing, fixing any define's in my m-irist.h, s-usg5-2.h, and config.h as needed, and continuing. The problem came when everything worked, and I decided to rebuild from scratch (seemed worthwhile since not all of the .o files were generated with the same .h's. Now all keystrokes' effects are delayed until the *next* keystroke (a confusing situation, to say the least). I suspect SIGIO and/or INTERRUPT_INPUT, but no amount of fiddling with these seems to fix the problem (I haven't tried to recreate the original (inconsistent) scenario). Any suggestions? Any/All help will be much appreciated. - Eric (raible@ames-nas.arpa)

I can't get GNU Emacs V.18.38 working under our Honeywell UX-2 (made by Honeywell Information Systems Italia [HISI]). Short description of problem: Temacs compiles and links fairly well, but for some reason, exec of temacs fails. Seems that exec does not recognize temacs as executable code, passes it to shell, which (naturally) fails to execute it. Operating system currently used is SYS V rel. 2. Include files we used are for SVr2. Does anybody out there have ideas how to fix this? Replies via Internet or Uucp, please.
