From: Vibhu Mittal <mittal> I am not very familiar with Emacs, so this is probably an extremely simple question for ya'll... I use a tektronix 4023 terminal at home, and need to run emacs on the DEC-20. The Dec does not understand the terminal type, so each time I need to run emacs, I need to set the terminal type for emacs (using the ESC-X Set terminal type$tk4023 command). I would like to include this command in my emacs.init file so that it gets executed automatically. Since what I don't know about emacs and teco would fill up the emacs manual, I need to have somebody tell me how its done. I just need the command that will do it - I'll get by and learn teco to edit the .init file. I really do appreciate it, and thanks in advance ... Use:
m(m.mSet Terminal Type$)tk4023$
where, as you know, the dollar signs represent escapes.
