[comp.emacs] Emacs crashing on celerity's

galvin@yale.UUCP (Peter Galvin) (06/29/87)

I've now built a gnu emacs with x windows support on our Celerity
system. It seems to work correctly, both "normally" and as
remote Xwindow client, but for the fact that any .Xkeymap
file in the current directory causes it to crash at the first
key press. I made sure to keycomp the map file on the celerity
even though I copied it from another system, but that didn't help.

The error is "invalid address (core dumped)".

I suppose this could be an Xwindow bug (maybe generating a bogus keymap)
but other programs seem to work fine from the Celerity (like xterm).

I can show a stack trace of the crash if it would help anyone.

Thanks for the help.
