I recently finish bringing up GNU CC and also got the diffs for several versions of emacs to bring mine up to date. I figured I would use GCC to compile emacs. But it says, when compiling xterm.c, "cc.1 died on fatal signal 4" Pcc can compile this fine. I looked this up, and it is the same trap abort(3) generates. Further, the GCC manual says that on some machine architectures, the compiler will abort because it doesn't know about a particular combination of features. But I am on a Vax. I thought it worked for the Vax. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Michael I.
