I was long overdue to update my GNU emacs so I decided to do it from scratch. I get the dist from prep and I edit this that and the other thing and run the build-install. It died when trying to load with the following undefined symbol: "INPUT_RESIGNAL" so I look to see who is doing this and I find in the file "xterm.h" (in src) that there is a reference in a define for UNBLOCK_INPUT_RESIGNAL to "INPUT_RESIGNAL" which doesn't exist. Hwever, a few lines previsou to this define is one for "RESIGNAL_INPUT". It was worth a try, so I reversed the bad reference, modified the ymakefile entries for xfns.o and xmenu.o to reflect their dependency on xterm.h, and it worked. Everything seems to load up fine, and X window stuff seems to be working, too. Did anyone else get this? Was this the right fix, or am I on the verge of a meltdown?? Should I post a formal bug-report/fix or what? Christopher Welty - Asst. Director, RPI CS Labs weltyc@cs.rpi.edu ...!seismo!rpics!weltyc
