Does GNU Emacs recognize any of the keys on a Sun-3 keyboard as a true meta key, or even a "prefix-escape" key -- i.e., a key that you press simultaneously with another, analogous to the Control key? Several people replied that the "left" and "right" keys adjacent to the spacebar work as meta-keys. Thanks. (Although you may have to set some sort of configuration parameter in Emacs to get it recognized.) There's an obscurely (or un-) documented termcap file entry called "km" (has meta key) which must be present in the "sun" termcap entry before v18 emacs will recognize the Left and Right keys as meta keys with SunOS 3.4. Yes, we found this out the hard way. -- -- Dave Wright internet: wright@tc.fluke.COM uucp: {decvax!sun,ucbvax!sun,uw-beaver,ssc-vax,allegra,lbl-csam}!fluke!wright John Fluke Mfg.
