The scenario: /usr/ is mode 775 /usr/foo/ is mode 771 /usr/foo/bar/ is mode 775 I am in category "other", for the purpose of access determination. Notice that pwd in /usr/foo/bar fails. Hence when emacs (GNU 18.47) tries to find /usr/foo/bar/snert it too fails. I can't edit snert! The question: What do I do in this case? My interum solution is to use vi, but that seems inelegant. -- -- Scott Schwartz schwartz@gondor.psu.edu -- Scott Schwartz schwartz@gondor.psu.edu
