We have a number of non-technical users here who currently use CCA Emacs, although most of our technical users use GNU Emacs. We would like to move our CCA users over to GNU, but we want to make the transition as easy as possible. Does anyone already have a GNU Emacs package that implements the default CCA Emacs command set? I know I could do it myself, and I probably will, but I figured I'd save myself some time if someone already has done it. We are running GNU Emacs 18.49.20 on Ultrix 2.0, Sun 3.4, and 4.3bsd on Vaxes (I think this latter is the only place where CCA Emacs runs -- the main reason we want to convert the users is that we are phasing this machine out). Please respond by mail. --- Barry Margolin Thinking Machines Corp. barmar@think.com seismo!think!barmar

I assure you that CCA doesn't run only on Vaxes: one of my clients used to run it under System III on a Plexus P/60. I may borrow the manual for it and see what the differences are in practice... although I noticed one right off: M-X dissociated press didn't exist, although there was a man page with a comment at the bottom about how the page was included to encourage someone to write it.... -- ___ ________________, Brandon S.
