----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Alarm--The Alarm--IRS
This one is already gathering a storm of critical acclaim. I
believe this band is from Wales. Rock-pop with an anthemic
quality much like U2. This is a five-song EP, so you can most
likely pick it up at a bargain price. Recommended.

Altered Images--Don't Talk.../Last Goodbye--Portrait
For those who find Claire Grogan's sing-song delivery as annoying
as (fill in your own personal annoyance), this single should be
avoided. This sounds very similar to previous Altered Images
releases, with the B-Side a bit catchier pop-wise than the A.

Big Boys--Lullabies Help The Brain Grow--Moment
Punk 'n' Funk. Another intelligent band that uses a hardcore
approach at times to express themselves. At other times however
they funk out to the tune of "Hollywood Swingin'" (that from
their first LP "Fun, Fun, Fun"). A very good disc.

Channel 3--When the Lights Go Out--Posh Boy
A strong contender for my top-10 list this year. Rockin' roll
and hardcore. Their cover of the Stones "Stupid Girl" shows
Channel 3 to have everything that the Stones themselves have lost.
It's great to hear a band with this much wit, energy and balls
	(just an expression, ok?).

Youth Brigade--Sound and Fury--Better Youth Organization
Yet >another< excellent, intelligent hardcore and rock album. A
variety of tempos and some variety of styles. Includes the soon
to be classic "Sink With California" as well as an interesting
reworking of "Duke of Earl." Oh, and yet another anti-Reagan
tune (told as a Robinhood like fairy tale!). At least our Pres-
ident is inspiring the arts (if not the economy... but that's
	another channel).
