[comp.emacs] Help compiling GNU-Emacs on Tandem LXN

chris@lxn.UUCP (Christopher D. Orr) (03/02/88)

Dear Savior,

I am despritely trying to get a version of GNU-Emacs to run on my
Tandem LXN. It is a 68020, System V 2.2 machine w/ 4 meg of Ram. The
source compiles fine (I borrowed the m-* file from m-tower32 since they
are closely related), but everytime I invoke "xemacs", I get
an "abort - core dumped" error.

I've tried putting up the PURESIZE up to 232200 (twice that of 116100) as
per the PROBLEMS file. No help. The PROBLEMS file also suggested removing
the .elc files. The problem there; there were non to remove.

If you have *** ANY INSIGHT ***, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE drop me some e-mail.
For those of you who might also have a Tandem LXN, I'll let you know if I ever
get it working. If you already have a copy running on your LXN ... well,
I'm not above begging for a copy ....

          Anxiously awaiting a response ....

				Chris

You might consider executing
	adb xemacs core
	$c
just to get a stack trace of where it's dying. You'd at least have a
handle on where to go looking for the trouble.
