[ munch munch ...] Hi there! A question for you gnu emacs users. Is anyone running gnu emacs under layers? We have a couple of 3B2/400s hooked up to 630 terminals running layers, and would like to run gnu emacs. Before going out and getting the whole moster at 1200 baud I thought I'd ask if it works under layers first (there being no point otherwise). System V version 3.1. Email to me please. Thanks very much! -Robby P.S. I've tried microemacs, but it doesn't like layers... -- Robby Kates ...ihnp4!beattres!robby Beatrice Corporate Headquarters, Chicago "...and a lover who looks straaaaangly, like Time the Avenga..." -CH- #include <disclaimer.h> (312) 558-4028

I used both full GNU Emacs as well as MicroGNUEmacs on 5620s on VAXen
and 3B{2,15}s running V.0, V.2, and V.2.2 with no problem. I don't
recall ever experimenting with Lawrence's MicroEMACS. I have it
running on V.3.0 3B2/400s now as well, albeit without 5620s/630s. A
subtle change or two was necessary for V.3.1; it's been discussed in
bug-gnu-emacs.
And if you're going to be picking it up from osu-cis, there are
2400bps lines available. See any of the semi-recent postings in
comp.sources.d.
