[comp.emacs] emacs docs

alan@coplex.UUCP (W. Alan Bunch) (03/16/88)

Hello all,

I know that we are living in the dark ages but we are using Micro Emacs 3.6
an a Unix machine. We have Micro Emacs 3.9 source. We have not upgraded
to 3.9 because we are working on getting all our 3.6 hacks into it. We
dont use GNUEmacs because it realy is over kill for us and we just dont
have the disk space for source or the ram for the compiled copies. Please
no flames for living in the dark ages, the managment here is alergic to the
sun.

The things that we are missing are the man pages or users manuals for eather
3.6 or 3.9. We have the emacs.key, emacs.help, and emacs.tut files and
some things that we have learned the hard way. After getting into 3.9
we thought we would see about getitng any other docs for this version.

If some kind soul would please mail us a copy Ahla (sic ?) would
surely bless you. PLease do not send docs for GNUEmacs as I dont have
this. What would be best for us is a the namuals for version 3.x and
any updates for same, or the namuals for 3.9 if there is such a thingy.

If none of this exists and I have all that I will ever have let me know
that too.

Thank you all in advance as I know that my mailbox will be full to overflowing
in the morning.

I have seen copies of the 3.9 docs for microemacs floating around various
services, specifically genie, believe portal may have a copy somewhere,
so i would expect to see it around the net. The copy I downloaded had to
be cleaned up in a word processor but other than that was complete. it has
become the editor of choice for various workstations where I work
