Where is it possible to get the latest version of GNU Emacs via uucp, ftp, etc.? It appears that 18.51 is available, although I have not seen in the last few weeks any mention of its source. We are currently running 18.37, which by the looks of it is rather outdated... Please e-mail responses so as to avoid repeating something which may possibly have been hacked to death... I just now checked on prep, and 18.50 is the latest thing available
there. If you can ftp, look in /u/emacs for edist.tar-18.50.Z. If
you can't ftp, you can UUCP it from osu-cis. From the volume of my
mail, it seems we're due to re-post the instructions to
comp.sources.d, so look there in a little bit if you don't have the
info already.

Quite. You ought to upgrade. Lots of compatibility enhancements and
bug fixes have gone by since 18.37.
