[comp.emacs] Running GNUemacs on a Sequent Symmetry

rjk@mrstve.UUCP (Richard Kuhns) (04/17/88)

We've recently aquired a Symmetry, and I've been anxious to get my
editor-of-choice running on it. I've downloaded the necessary patches
to bring emacs up to 18.50, and I've created an `m-symmetry.h'
which I concocted from m-sequent.h and m-intel386.h. Emacs
compiles, temacs runs & dumps xemacs, and I can run xemacs.
It looks like everything works perfectly except for the functions
which access the documentation. Specifically, apropos, describe-function,
and all it's relatives cause `Fatal Error(11);memory fault-core dumped'.
Can anyone suggest where I should look or what I should (un)define
to help with this problem?

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated...

By the way, if anyone else is interested in what I've done so far, drop
me a line and I'll be happy to send it to you (the .h file, that is).
