The mh-e `f' command, also known as the mh-forward function, breaks if your draft-folder is named "draft". The workaround is to call your draft folder anything but "draft": common choices are "Draft" or "drafts". Set this with a line in your .mh_profile like: Draft-Folder: drafts The mh-forward function tries to edit "draft" as a plain file, although it's a directory if it's a folder. The operating system won't allow a user-level program to directly write into a directory, so the function won't do what you want. This is with version 1.57 of mh-e.el, shipped with GNU Emacs 18.50. -- bd P.S. to James Larus: My nearby hub, hpda, didn't know how to get to "Larus@paris.Berkeley.EDU"---it couldn't find paris, sigh: 550 paris.berkeley.edu.tcp... 550 Host unknown 550 <Larus@paris.Berkeley.EDU>...
