NeWS window system support for GNU Emacs version 18.51 is now available. This latest release is compatible with Emacs versions 18.49 to 18.51 and NeWS versions 1.0 and 1.1. Installation requires copying a few new source files into the Emacs source tree, making a few small patches to the standard Emacs sources (unless a previous version of the NeWS interface has already been installed), and recompiling. A "major mode" for editing PostScript files is also included. The NeWS interface can be obtained by retrieving the compressed tar file pub/ps-emacs.tar.Z via anonymous ftp from columbia.edu, or sending a message to archive-server@columbia.edu containing the line "send NeWS emacs-support".
