On several occasions over the past months I have had problems with subprocesses hanging in GNU emacs. I get a message saying Pieman process stopped (tty output) I am assuming that it means that it had some output to flush but it couln't as there was no reciver on the other end of his output. But this makes no sense because GNU emacs is supposed to be holding the other end of that socket and dumping the output into the processes buffer. BTW this has happened with shells also so it dosn't seem to be a problem with the "pieman" program in particular. Has anyone else encountered this behavior? I am running version 18.49.
