Has anyone made Gnu emacs work under Sun's 4.0 operating system? The problem is, of course, in the crt file (where else...), which has been changed to support shared libraries. I tried making it with -Bstatic, but that didn't help. =Spencer (spencer@crim.eecs.umich.edu)

I got Gnu Emacs 18.50 up on my Sun 386i running SunOS 4.0 without any problems. Under SunOS 4.0, you can set START_FILES to pre-crt0.o and /lib/crt0.o. (If you discover that a Sun machine that cannot do this, please let me know.) I also discovered that you need to link with -n and -Bstatic, due to the dynamic linking that SunOS 4.0 defaults to. -Israel -- -------------------------------------- Disclaimer: The above are my personal opinions, and in no way represent the opinions of Intel Corporation.
