[comp.emacs] Problem with ^G in 18.51 on VMS

Since we have been running GNU 18.51 on a Vax 8530 under VMS V4.7, there
has been a problem. After a user enters a Control/G, terminal multi-key
sequences (such as arrow keys, etc.) lose one or more of the first characters
of the sequence. Usually (95% of the time) a single ^G will lose the ESCAPE
from the <ESC>OA, causing an insertion of the OA into the buffer. 2 or more
^Gs will lose the ESC and O. Typing the 3 characters manually works, so it
seems to be a problem of the characters coming in too fast. The situation
clears by exiting and re-entering EMACS or by forcing some errors, like trying
to moving past the last character in the buffer.

The problem occurs on connections from LAT ports, DECnet, and DMB ports. It
does not happen on connections through CMU/TEK TCP-IP.

Does this happen to any other VMS users? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
