I recently installed emacs (again) on a machine. Everything works
fine except one thing. WHen I try to "describe-function", it prints
in the *Help* buffer:
<function-name>:
Cannot exec binary file.
What exactly is it trying to do? If it were more specific about the error,
I could track it down. All help appreciated.
BTW: Is there a way of invoking emacs without reading from ~/.Xkeymap?

I posted this awhile back and got no response. If this was a silly
question, then please give some flames or SOMETHING. Anyway, here's the error:
I type in 'meta-x describe function' and then at the prompt 'Describe function:
I type in say 'query-replace'. The window splits in two, and I get in the
text window:
query-replace:
Cannot exec binary file.
In the message window, I get the normal help messages.
What gives?
