The AIX (for RT/PC) support in 18.52 does not include support for running subprocesses on PTYs rather than pipes, as that code needed some cleanup and the 18.52 release came along too quickly. Diffs for PTY support, and to fix a case where CTRL/@ sometimes gets lost on AIX under telnet or XTERM, can be found on prep.ai.mit.edu in AIX-18.52-update.
