[comp.emacs] Gnews in space

weemba@garnet.berkeley.edu (Obnoxio the Clown) (10/21/88)

Hey, it looks like my newsreader (Gnews) has made it to the BIG TIME!
In SECRET ORIGINS 34, we finally see the origin of Gnort Esplanade
Gneesmacher: "Once upon a time, in a far distant galaxy, on a far
distant planet, beneath a far distant sun ... in the crowded, dirty,
and generally obnoxious city of Squashedbush ..."

Weemba says, check it out. On page 3 of the Gnort story, bottom left
panel, look what papa Gnelson is reading: Today's Gnews. Yahoo! Go,
Gnort buddy, go! All you comp.emacs readers, I suggest you run to
your nearest comics specialty store and verify for yourself that Gnews
is the most widely distributed Emacs code in the known DC universe.

OK, I suppose gno one else in the world cares. I just had to say it.

Dare I ask? What are the odds that DC could supply one copylefted pic
of Gnort(TM) himself reading "Today's Gnews" for me, for use as a cover
picture on my Gnews manual? It's not like we're talking Superman...
