I am trying to redefine the way GNU Emacs handels "Continuation Lines". (Yes I know where the '"' and the '.' are SUPPOSE to go, but that isn't what I am trying to say!) I am searching for the function that is called to place either the "\" or the "$" in the right hand column when too many characters have been typed. What I would like to implement is some sort of automatic horizontal scrolling when the point reaches (passes) the window edge. If any one could help, I would most appreciate it. -Matthew D.
