A couple weeks ago I asked the newsgroup for help in getting GNU Emacs 18.52 going on an ELXSI running BSD 4.3. Thanks to a speedy reply from Matt Crawford (matt@oddjob.uchicago.edu) who sent me his changes, GNU is alive and well and running on our ELXSI. If anyone would like a copy of the patches, let me know and I'll be happy to forward them. How do we request that the ELXSI/BSD 4.3 patches added to the official GNU distribution? The 18.52 distribution (and earlier) includes some ELXSI patches for Unix System V only, but that doesn't help ELXSI users running BSD 4.3. I'll try sending a note to bug-gnu-emacs@prep.ai.mit.edu. -Jon P.S. The GNU-ada extensions from Lynn Slater (lrs@esl.ESL.COM), mentioned here a few weeks ago, are very nice. Ada users should give them a try. -- ---- random rumors from Jon Spear, comp eng student | With computers we can make a jspear@blackbird.afit.af.mil or @afit-ab.arpa | billion mistakes every second.

I guess I should point out that Elxsi changed their a.out format so that unexec no longer needs to byte-swap the COFF headers. Matt Crawford
